Try to add 'vertical-align': 'middle' to the CSS options

vertical-align doesn't seem to work. dy property (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/SVG/Attribute/dy) works though. Not sure why it needs to add few pixels, but it helps.
