Copyright holder

Something we didn't specify was who holds the copyright. For example, the MIT licence requires you to fill in the year but also the author. Would this be the staff member(s) who wrote the code, or would this be the institution who owns the intellectual property?

From reading our staff collective agreement and copyright processes, it is clear that all software developed by us is copyright of Manaaki Whenua - though the legal name that should appear in the license is "Landcare Research New Zealand Ltd"
