Are you planning to update this to versions past 1.16?

I'm a big fan of this mod, and if the original developer doesn't want to/is unable to maintain it, I happily will. The mod still works on newer versions of the game, but had some minor issues, so I just submitted a small pull request updating the mod to 1.18.2. @matjojo, thanks for a fun and whimsical mod that has become a staple in all of my client modpack builds!

I'm very happy that you enjoy this mod so much hehe. I indeed made it as a whimsical idea and hadn't really planned on supporting it longer term. Feel free to update this mod on your own. I could even add you as maintainer on curseforge, though I don't remembe how that works anymore.

My response was even more delayed! I can't promise long term updates but if I put in the effort to update it myself, I'll be sure to submit a PR. If you add me as a maintainer on curseforge, I can upload JARs as well.
