I've added the tracking code to my index.html page just before the tag as detailed but no matter what i do i always get "Tracking code verification failed. Please verify that you have installed the code correctly"

I'm not sure what i've done wrong?

Same here, been online a few hours and have cleared all serverside cache and dns cache.

Ok, for me this was because of uBlock origin browser extension
