Issues with events and component mounting

in issues #203 adding a click event to capture cell selections remounts the datatable component for no obvious reason.
In issue #172 solved by 0a82bac typing event was remounting the component.
There is something fishy around React which was only worked around and not solved. It would probably require a complete renovation to be solved.
