Removal from Debian repo

Why is nothing happening in the Debian repo and there is a very old version on it?
Can you personally become a package maintainer?
Debian is a very important distribution for the future of ZC, sadly nobody cares about this package :(

Im also concern about this. Current version is 6.2 but Debian apt install 5.7.1...
