👋 There are two parts of the documentation (which will be properly combined into https://docs.docker.com soon, we know it's hard to find in the current state 😄) The Dockerfile syntax is defined in the buildkit in syntax.md, while the buildx command line arguments are defined in the buildx build man page. In terms of buildctl, the semantics should be the same as buildx, but we don't document them, since buildctl is mostly a development interface, and not really intended to be end-user facing. |
