Hi,
I ran into the same issue trying to configure paperclip_optimizer with image_optim_bin on a Rails 4.1 heroku app (janfoeh/paperclip-optimizer#21). I had to use the image_optim_pack gem instead, from https://github.com/toy/image_optim. @mooktakim, maybe you could inform on the readme file that the gem isn't fully functional ?
