[Feature request] Self Updating Application

Reason

Having a simple toggle for automatic updates, like what Steam offers, would greatly enhance the user experience. Right now, it's frustrating to have to manually redownload and reinstall the app every week or so whenever there’s a new update. This is an unnecessary hassle that could be easily avoided.

Competition

Major VPN providers such as NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Surfshark, CyberGhost, Private Internet Access (PIA), and TunnelBear all offer automatic updates.

Conclusion

Without this feature, it becomes difficult to recommend this app, as it introduces an inconvenient and outdated process for users. In today's world, no modern app should require this level of manual upkeep. I strongly urge you to prioritize adding this functionality to stay competitive and improve user satisfaction.

Thank you for this feature suggestion. I agree that the current update situation isn't optimal. While we're probably not going to implement fully automatic updates we do have something similar in our backlog. Our plan is for the user to have to accept updating from within the app by pressing a button.
