Description of the issue you are having

I've noticed this issue for a while. I have been using version BetterCompatibilityChecker Forge 4.0.8+mc1.20.1 and had no problems but when I update the mod to the latest (on Modrinth) it causes the game to continuously ping servers (even though you can join just fine) and then crashes shortly after. I think it might have to do with the fact that the versions are all mixed up and not organized on Modrinth.

Download off of Curseforge instead of Modrinth. Developer screwed up the downloads for Modrinth and the latest version is listed as the oldest version, I posted about the issue a while ago and they refused to fix it. It is what it is

Thanks to @CorneliusCornbread I can confirm the issue is resolved if you download the lastest version on CurseForge.

I was having the same issue with the same version 3.0.1-build.58+mc1.20. It was a pain to troubleshoot while having +350 mods installed.
