Notifications very unpredictable in Mac

Hello, I installed this app because I need notifications to pop up in my desktop when there's a new chat coming. The browser app doesn't do notifications too well, and is kind of understandable.

But the desktop app also does not give me a predictable notifications. It works once every 10 messages or so, and is very late.

I also installed the mobile app as a comparison, and the mobile app is working fine.

Is this a known issue that will be fixed? I haven't tried windows client yet.
