Node PDX Bike Explorations!

The bike explorations will depart at 5:15pm from the waterfront on Sunday the 19th. If you're interested, get RSVPed with a Bike Ride Ticket and we'll deliver the specific details for the starting point, bike rentals, or other ways to get a bike and join the ride when it's closer to the date.

We'll start off (see the map to the left) from somewhere along the waterfront (near the grey map drop). There we'll take a northerly approach across the Steel Bridge, one of the only double lift spans in the United States.

From there we'll ride the switch back up into northeast Portland and onward to Cup & Bar. There we'll have a tasty coffee (or other beverage of your choice). After relaxing for a while we'll roll onward to the east, and the south through some Portland neighborhoods. We'll cut through one of the first Portland neighborhoods on the east side of the Willamette River, Ladd's Addition.

As we wind through Ladd's Addition we'll pull up to an intersection of bike goodness where there is Apex, one of the local taproom favorites with a multitude of options (50 rotating beers on tap). Again, we'll take a short break for a round here.

From there we'll leave Apex and head across some of Portland's newest bicycle infrastructure. Not only is this some of the newest Portland infrastructure, it's some of the most modern infrastructure in the entire United States. We'll cross the Tilikum Crossing, opened in September of 2015. There we'll meet the west side of the Willamette Riverbank again and ride north along the waterfront. There we'll wrap up for the evening and on to other things.
