This is mostly implemented via http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/862752/ etc, but there's still some work to do to make it work nicely, such as

working out a solution for OpenBMC machines that can't talk to themselves over NCSI
working out more dynamically what utility to update with
better validation of update files
allowing partial updates? (eg. just BOOTKERNEL)
