The REST method supports date filters: https://github.com/openpreserve/par/blob/master/api/par-api.yaml#L1472 but the entity has no appropriate property: https://github.com/openpreserve/par/blob/master/api/par-api.yaml#L4336.

This is partly because we initially didn't imagine Format Families were a "first class" PAR Core Entity. I think the definition was bundled into one of the other schema files. In practice, it turned out to be very useful for use to give it a separate API endpoint, and separate schema definition, de-facto "promoting" it to a first class entity.

If we decide that it's a sufficiently first class entity, then it should have a local last modified in line with all other core entities.

My vote would be yes, it should be a first class entity, and yes it should have a local last modified.

This is related to #40 and should be looked at as part of the v1.4.0 release.
