An important consideration that anyone should know when trying to hide something is that blur and pixelation can be reversed and also the change of colors to extremes (with levels or curve tools in GIMP, Photoshop or similar) or covering with not completely opaque bars will leave some information which can be used to get the unredacted version and you should be aware of that.
