Over the years, we've seen an incredible array of features added to PHP, transforming it into a modern and robust language. However, I wonder if there are plans to pivot the focus toward performance optimization rather than introducing new features. Every new major release gets performance gains, but what I mean is a project focusing on improving the language performance significantly.
A "Feature pause" could also give developers time to catch up and adopt recent features, especially the amount of features released in 8.4.
I am curious to know if there's something planned by the language core team.
