Are there any plans to add a direct linear system solver as an option when using the gpu (for example from cuSolverSP)?

It would be nice to have a direct linear system solver that runs on the GPU, but this is not our top priority at the moment.

If you are interested in making a PR, I would be happy to provide some guidance.
