I have kobo clara 2e, latest firmware with Nickelmenu (latest), Koreader (latest) and Plato (latest). Kobo config is set to exclude directories as per advice. Nickel menu is set to allow running Plato and Koreader. When I exit Koreader it takes a long time to go back to home. I get a screen with 3 dots animation. It perhaps takes 20s? I get similar with Plato.

Is this normal? Why? Is there anyway to make it quicker?

Since both koreader and plato do this I presume it is a nickelmenu "feature" or is it not?

Digging a bit deeper I see that koreader kill nickel and then does a reboot of it when it quits, hence the long delay I expect. I guess plato does the same. Even the Vlasovsoft utils seems to kill and reboot.

I'm just gonna add that it seems to do the same thing as a 3DS when you exit the settings menu. (it restarts)
Of course, this doesn't happen to me as i don't have a clara 2e / koreader, just speculating on what you said, so just ignore this comment.

KOReader will attempt to restart Nickel if possible. But that basically only shaves a few seconds off of a cold boot, so, no, everything looks fine to me, and it certainly has nothing to do with NM in any case ;).
