Hey.... I'm totally new to zsh, but i installed it the other day and it seems like it's based on bash. But this repo "Oh My Zsh" has tons of "plugins" that can work with it, which is really just a betty like CLI interface to lots of standard linux type stuff:

Maybe you could use their plugin format in betty to gets lots more commands pretty easy? Food for thought!

Some plugins might actually be useful, for example the (auto completion of) maven plugin:
