Best way to test project using hatch test command?

I'm fairly new to hatch. I incorporated it into an existing project prior to the test command being added and would run hatch run test, which worked because it ran using the default environment. Recently I created a new project using hatch, but running hatch test uses the hatch-test environment, which doesn't have my project installed into it, so it doesn't work due to import errors. I'm wondering, what is the best method to make the new test command work?

The config is pretty much what was generated via hatch new, but maybe the changes I made to it that I thought were superficial broke something?

I'm guessing it's a bug where the default matrix does not respect requires-python. Try hatch test -py 3.12

That worked. It created a new environment, hatch-test.py3.12, and installed the project into it.
