I was trying to use SeuratDisk in a project and noticed some fatal errors, especially when trying to convert h5ad to h5Seurat, although the inverse conversion seems to be fine. The package has over 100 open issues, and there have not been any commits to the main branch of the project since April of 2022. However, it appears to still have many active users and I see it pretty frequently in publications and in Google search results for handling file conversions.
While much of the functionality of SeuratDisk is useful, at this point I need to know if I can rely on the package going forward to play an important role in delivering on my group's important projects.
I also wanted to make sure to say a thanks to the SeuratDisk devs for all their hard work regardless of the status and direction of that project. This is absolutely expected to happen with experimental projects, I just think many of us would appreciate some clarification on what to expect.
