We usually use a mobile phone as hotspot for the cars to connect through. If nothing happens in 20 minutes, it closes the connection. Let the car send a message to the server every 15 minutes to prevent this.

This is also somewhat related to #36, since either a car ought to query the server now and then for new updates, or the server tells it that they exist.

An alternative is to let the connection close, but have the car reopen it when it happens.
