I'm a VR enthusiast. During the pandemic I bought an Oculus Quest and was blown away by the presence and immersion. However most games were single player, and the apps that were social were difficult to use to find your friends or didn't have the right features or community. Most platforms were silos instead of being interconnected with links like the web is. I wondered why there weren't more websites that were VR enabled. The metaverse was supposed to be this next big thing, but why weren't developers hacking on VR websites left and right like the early days of the internet when everyone was trying to make a website. My conclusion is that it's just complicated and takes a lot of work. So my aim here is to build up a working example from scratch that everyone can understand from the ground up and use that as a starting point for their own purposes.
