Why play function is executed before the parameters could have changed the UI

Hi dear reader,

I opened this Issue for this addon since based on my understanding tests written in play function should be executed after parameters had the necessary time to change the UI, but then with my specific way of implementation I realized that is not the case: chromaui/storybook-addon-pseudo-states#89

Any help is welcomed
