How do I install this? I tried using the PPA and it did not work. Dropbox folders for the deb packs are dead

I found the release page which is not linked in the Readme, but trying to install it using the Gnome Store does not work.

I think the original 2.4 version was only built up until ubuntu xenial version. tomtomtom on launchpad did package the source for at least ubuntu artful, and maybe bionic also.

Also, you can try this easy method, which is effectively a version of 2.5 of conky-manager and has the addition of supporting the newer conky 1.10 config versions: https://github.com/zcot/conky-manager2
