The web site code seems to support a dark theme, but it's not used either automatically (according to browser settings) or available manually via a toggle.
I noticed because the site was flashing up dark in my browser (where I have dark set as my preference) before rendering as normal, and a quick look at the code showed this was no accident!
Possibly relatedly, I get a warning saying that the site is rendering in quirks mode owing to a missing doctype.

Thanks for reporting this, and apologies for taking so long to get it. I've submitted a PR to make our web server always add a doctype tag thefrontside/revolution#9
Once that is released, I'll update the effection site to use that version.
