If you have different machines on your desk like a Windows or Linux machine and of course a Mac you often have the struggle to work on all of them at the same time or want to see the phone or even interact with it using your mouse.
Share mouse and keyboard
My setup looks like this: main machine is a Linux Laptop and I have a Macbook Air standing on my left side and I control all of them with a single mouse/keyboard without a hardware switch using Barrier (a fork of Synergy).
On my Linux machine I run it as a server and I set my Macbook being on the left side of my local machine:
now when I move my mouse to the left side of my Linux machine it will appear on the right side of my Macbook. At that time my keyboard inputs are transferred to that machine too!
Stream devices
For presentations it is useful to stream your device to your desktop. You can use Quicktime on your Mac to connect to an iPhone. For Android you can use Scrcpy to show your device on your computer. With this tool you can also use the mouse and keyboard to control your phone.
A good wireless Android solutions is ScreenStream. Here the app will start a HTTP streaming server and you can access it using your desktop browsers.
There are commercial products like Reflector which are good to.
