If the email could include a URL to the excerpt in Cloud Reader (https://read.amazon.com)

I agree that would be cool. I looked at it but it doesn't look that read.amazon.com can be deep linked into. I tried via
?action=open&asin=B0040JHNQG&location=401 and it did open the correct asin ( book ) but didn't go to the location.

It works via kindle://book?action=open&asin=B0040JHNQG&location=401 link which will open the desktop app if you have it installed, so perhaps that's a good start.

Hey. Yeah I didn't find much hope to do this for the cloud reader either

But hey the fact that it would/could work for the desktop app is still
awesome

Are you keen to add a commit for that or should I fork and try my own luck?

Hey Tobi

Looked into this but I couldn’t figure it out. The data.json contains startLocation and endLocation keys. Can’t seem to figure out how that translates to a “Location” value

?
