How to provide custom swift code in compiled module

I've seen threads this isn't fully supported or was part of early implemention... I want to be able to provide custom Swift extensions to make iOS devs lives easier. If I include sources under <module>/src/swift/ I see the do get copied over to <module>/build/skie/binaries/releaseFramework/RELEASE/<arch>/swift/custom/ but are not actually included in the final framework output.

Is there a way to get this custom swift code into the built xcframework?
