In the Highlight extension, can we have an option to remove the color: inherit?

Description

Currently, the highlight extension forces color: inherit on highlighted text, which means you need to use !important to override the text color within highlighted sections. This isn't an ideal solution. Would it be possible to:

Have an option to disable the color: inherit behavior when highlighting text, or allow us to set the text color directly through the highlight extension itself?

Use Case

The only way to change the text color of highlighted content is by using the !important declaration, which is not a great CSS practice.
