What happened?

I do not get any linting in vscode running on Win11 until I also install the WSL extension. We should document this requirement as a setup step for Windows users.

How can we reproduce it?

Open a workspace in VSCode (running in Windows) in WSL. Install the extensions. Notice you don't get linting. Add Microsoft's wsl extension. Linting now works.

What environment did it happen in?

Windows
