Would it maybe be nice to have a promise-based API around this? Something along these lines:

var path = getSomePath();

Metronome({
  type: 'frames',
  draw: function(handle, progress){ /* do something */ }
}).then(function(){
  return Metronome({
    type: 'frames',
    draw: function(handle, progress){ /* do something else */ }
}).then(function(){ /* etc */ });
