  • The "club website" URL listed above is actually a Javascript redirect that the college's webmaster added for us, so we could have a short/memorable website to list publicly, which would redirect to our actual website, located on hills.ccsf.edu, where club members can update the website without having to involve the college's webmaster.

  • The guiding development principle for the website is keep it simple enough that future students with only 1-3 semesters of CS classes can maintain it. No web dev experience can be assumed. The club can create projects to try out more advanced web development frameworks, but don't use the club website as a learning project.

  • Additionally, we've purposefully chosen to host the website on the hills (a CCSF-controlled) server, so that the college server admin can reset the password if necessary. The student tenure at CCSF is relatively short, and some clubs go thru dormant periods. If there was ever a break in club continuity, a new group of students could approach the CS department chair, and get the credentials to start using these resources again (email, Google Group, YouTube channel).
