The MEDPLat Application has several optional features, one of which is for using Android notifications to notify users about events or calling attention to some important information. Please note that the application will work even without the Notifications feature enabled. Anyone who wishes to enable notifications feature in their implementation can use firebase. alternatives such as gotify or other third party open source apps or use custom code that may or may not use Firebase internally as per the implementation preferences. The code has been updated accordingly. While the earlier code had specific references to Firebase, it has now been removed and this shall not affect the core funtionality of the app.
