About The Pull Request

Reduces brim demon's sight range so that he dosnt spot you from across the map

Legions are now dense so you dont get legion stacked by 9 of them and instant killed by their combined attack power

Why It's Good For The Game

Brim demons have often been discussed as having a far too long sight range, people even go to claim they can see through walls and from offscreen. While not true, they have a 9 tile sight range, meaning that if they arnt on the edge of your screen, they can see you, so that will be changed as to make them much less of a instant threat the moment you see them

Legion stacking is another issue that makes legions FAR more dangerous than they should be. Legion stacking is where legion skulls pile up on one tile, then hit you all at once for 30-50+ damage instantly, basically killing you, not to mention how they already perfectly pursue you once they chase. Setting them to dense means you cant fire past them or move past them without crawling, but it also means legion stacking will almost never occur (you can get surrounded but never hit by more than 9) This will make legion tendrils much easier, and multiple leagions easier for newer players to take on, while still remaining as a challenge.

balance: Reduced brim demon sight range, and made legion skulls dense so they cant stack

Many of us that play Miner on a regular basis have had to take a fair bit of time to play with the new simplemob changes and adjustments to the enemies.

I'm entirely in favor of the changes done to the Legion Skulls as, especially for lesser experienced miners, the way they are able to stack up and gang up on you for virtually no threat to their "masters" is something that needed to be given a hard evaluation for some time. Add on the fact that they can sometimes be challenging to target for higher ping players such as myself, this can lead to a lot of otherwise avoidable damage or even deaths. This change should bring some some of the "stupid" deaths down while keeping a sense of the challenge of taking on demonic hordes of skull chuckers.

Brimdemons have needed a range cut for some time. Players of all skill levels, from new miner to turbo-megafauna-killers have been absolutely taken down Mr. Bones Wild Ride by Brimdemons being able to see you and chase you from a long way away. It does need to be cut down to help them not see and then pursue from across the map, especially during situations where you didn't see them on the edge of your viewing distance but still get chased down anyway.

EDIT: Almost forgot to mention, one thing that should also be evaluated is some of the specifics regarding WATCHERS. While the two we are looking to fix here in this PR are probably some nasty offenders in certain situations, WATCHERS are absolutely horrible to fight, not withstanding their nuances that get the newer miners killed by a single "overwatch machinegun burst" that tends to happen.

Some people are salting over the nonstacking legion skulls bodyblocking them. We may have to revert that specific change and look at an alternative adjustment to legion skulls that actually results in a nerf.
