v3.8.0
Release Notes
Console2Desk:
-
New Wi-Fi Function in Console Mode: The Windows Wi-Fi menu has been rebuilt from scratch. Now, when in Console Mode, you can manage Wi-Fi networks directly from C2D, just like in Desktop Mode.
-
New Power Menu: Added a new button and rebuilt the Windows menu for shutting down, restarting, and turning off the monitor of your device directly from C2D.
-
Temporary Desktop Mode: Added a new button and function in Settings called Temporary Desktop Mode. This button helps you switch to Desktop Mode temporarily (without making it permanent). It is especially useful when you need to perform temporary tasks in Desktop Mode. Upon reboot, the device will return to Console Mode. Special thanks to @AllevatoreAnonimo for the suggestion/idea.
-
HandleOS Exclusive: Added a new button and menu to fully reactivate Sleep Mode and Hibernate Mode. The new menu also explains the pros and cons of enabling these features, as HandleOS disables them by default.
-
Tweak Paradise - Added the following new switches:
- Hardware Acceleration ON/OFF
- VRR and Windows Games Optimization
- RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) Optimization – Allows you to play games or use remote connections in RDP with full power and low latency. Special thanks to @AllevatoreAnonimo for contributing code.
- WDDM Driver Switch – Part of RDP optimizations for using XDDM drivers on Nvidia cards. It can also be used on AMD cards but may not be beneficial for certain configurations. Activate it only if you are sure it will improve your setup. Special thanks to @AllevatoreAnonimo for contributing code.
- Improved Windows Defender Management: Windows Defender can now be disabled in Console Mode, so you no longer need to switch to Desktop Mode to turn it off.
- New Windows Defender Icon: The icon is now dynamic. If Windows Defender is active, the icon will be colored. Once it is deactivated, the icon will turn grey.
- Integer Scaling Support: Added support for the current generation of Handled GPD and Steam Deck devices with APU in the Integer Scaling section. Special thanks to @AllevatoreAnonimo and @carlo_depas from the HandleOS Discord group.
- Improved Virtual Keyboard Management: Fixed a rare issue where switching between Console Mode and Desktop Mode could throw an exception of type 'System.String'. Thanks to Prob for reporting the issue.
- Slightly Enlarged the Tweak Paradise Icon for better visibility.
