Passport session lacks a serializer and deserializer #522

This is an okay default but ideally, a serializer with user id would fix bugs that are fixed by logging out and logging back in.

Desired implementation:

serialize: only userid and usertype goes in session
deserialize: issue a query to the DB using userid and usertype to get the latest user object
