maorninja edited this page Mar 16, 2017 · 1 revision

In this tutorial, we will show you how to install WWXD on your website.

Requirements

To install WWXD, you would need the following:

PHP version (minimum): Anything above PHP 5.4
PHP extentions: mcrypt & PHP-GD

You will also need mod-rewrite for apache2 and allow override all for rewritten URLS

Knowledge in PHP: No, but if you do, you can add your own nifty features. Just be sure to send in a pull request, so other users can use it as well.

MySQL: None, but you should have a recent version.

Installing

  1. Go to any webhost of your desire and sign up. You should be getting an email with CPanel info.

We recommend the following, though, it'll still work with other hosts:

  • h05t: A free host made by RoseyDreamy, which is another ByetHost clone
  • Infinity Free: A free host, which is great, but its yet again, another byethost clone.
  • hostinger: A good paid host.
  • WAMP: A good free VPS, although this is hosted on your PC and no one else can access it. You should only use this for testing purposes.
  • XAMPP: Same as WAMP, but more advanced and Popular.
  1. Download WorldWeb XD. If you want some stable software, go to the release page and press download for the .zip files
  2. Get the FTP data of your new host and upload all the files there. You can use [FileZilla](https://filezilla-project.org/] to do so.
  3. Make a MySQL database, and take notes of needed info.
  4. Go to your domain and follow the on-screen prompts.
  5. If everything went well, Enjoy! But if not: Tell us here.
