MLFlow Tracking Server Pruning Service

Overview

What is resource pruning?

The MLFlow Tracking Server will retrain all materials indefinitely. This includes information stored within the database as well as file system assets.

Based on retention needs, storage limitation, or other business requirements it may be required to remove resources which are not in use and have reached a certain age limit.

The Pruning Service allows for the review and remove of resources in this scenario.

The process will target the below resources if they are older than the defined age limit:

  1. Experiment Runs

    1. Runs which created registered model versions are excluded (until those versions are deleted).
  2. Registered Model Versions

    1. Models with any defined stage are excluded ('Staging', 'Production', 'Archived').
