AvaTaxLocal is the Avalara sales tax solution for Point-Of-Sale applications. AvaTaxLocal is an on-site installation of the same tax engine used in our hosted service only with a local subset of the AvaTax data. It provides the same high level of accuracy without the dependency on an always-connected Internet link.

Dependencies

• .NET 2.0 or later
• SQL Server 2005 or later

Installing AvaTax Local

Locate the AvaTaxLocal zip file in the repository and download it to your workstation.

extract the setup.exe from the installation zip file to your desktop or other accessible directory.

Double-click setup.exe and follow the installation prompts provided.

Click Finish to complete the installation.

The setup.exe installs 2 user interfaces (DB Creation Utility and AvaTaxLocal UI ) on your Start Menu under Avalara | AvaTaxLocal.

The use of AvaTax API's and connectors require that you have a valid AvaTax account. If you do not have an AvaTax account, a free trial account can be acquired through our [developer site](http://developer.avalara.com/api-get-started)
