Background

• @BerrisfordEdwards from 'University of Manchester' requested the ability to tweak the icon of the item for their display
• After deployment, it was successfully implemented in their search results

New Features

• Allow users to customize the labelText and imageUrl in order to tweak the display

New Features:

• specify a list of update entries (list_of_updates) to show up at the top of the help-menu (for highlighting new features or particular entrise)
• enable customization of the "Search Updates" and "Help Entries" headings

Bug Fixes:

• Images added to the #search-help-content section are constrained to a max-width to prevent them from expanding the width

Backwards Compatibility

• if you decline to use this new functionality for a list_of_updates, your experience should not change. if it does, please report an issue to let us know about it.

Background

• We didn't get as much usage over the last semester as we anticipated and hypothesize that this is because the icon is getting visually lost in the interface
• We're hoping that by creating a small distinguishing circle (mimicking a notification) in the top right bar above the icon will draw on the experience of our users with addressing social media icons and achieve the proper amount of traffic
• We don't want to overburden the user or create any alert fatigue, and expect to be able to turn this functionality on-and-off when the need arises.

New Features

• Add optional notification-indicator to visually highlight the top-bar button
• 'Dismiss' the notification-indicator for a customizable amount of time (default 2 weeks) once the user opens
