@orchid00, @raynamharris here you have it!!

Instructions:

  • fork this repository
  • clone the python-ecology in your machine
git clone -b python-ecology [email protected]:orchid00/i18n.git
  • Open the translation file: i18n/po/python-ecology-lesson.es.po with a translation software. You should open it with your favourite po editor (PoEdit is available in all platforms,
GTranslator for gnome, Lokalize for KDE)
  • Start translating!!!
  • save and commit regularly.
  • push to your fork and open a PR to this one (swcarpentry-i18n/i18n) and this branch (python-ecology).

Then, once merged, it will appear all here!

PR #10 has a lot of documentation that I will bring to master after review. Feel free to look in details there or ask any question here.

Thanks @dpshelio
However, at this point I would strongly suggest to use this approach for another lesson, ping @raynamharris
At the moment we are doing things a bit differently and in another repo, and I would like to avoid confusing people with another repo and extra steps of doing the translation. Hence I recommend again to start with a new lesson.
I could add you to our working organization so you could create a repo there https://github.com/Carpentries-ES

Well... then whenever it's translated we will move paragraph by paragraph to this platform. To make this faster (and hopefully automate it), please, ask the translators to keep the same paragraph structure than in the original. Without any extra blank lines, please.

By the way, how are you translating the notebooks? That's something we are not covering yet in here (and by the problem the notebooks have on versioning, I would discourage them! - a md2ipynb automated conversion seems more appealing to me).
