<p style="margin: 0 7% !important;">Julia Sandke will be completing her B.S. in Environmental Science at Queens College in NYC in June, 2024, after previously receiving a BFA in Dance in 2018 from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She decided to return to school to participate in the research that is guiding adaptation and conservation choices as our climate changes, especially as regards marine habitats. She has worked in a geochemistry lab studying mineral-water interfaces while assisting on projects focused on carbon sequestration, contaminant remediation, and ocean acidification, and is currently working in Neanderthal Lab on applying object detection methods to the benthic ecology of the ASHES Vent Field at Axial Seamount.</p>
