This project works alongside the Central Coast Heritage Tree Foundation in an effort to build a tree tracking website application for the nonprofit to keep track of their trees in the downtown area.
The Central Coast Heritage Tree Foundation is an organization that provides education and preserve historic trees in the downtown areas. Partnered with Black Diamond Vermicompost allows significant impact and growth to these historic trees in which volunteers help replenish old soil to new and nutrient rich soil. With the help of the community, volunteers log and visit these trees to keep track of its growth and status which is then shared to the organization to bring more attention to a specific tree or continue planting more trees.
The Central Coast Heritage Tree Foundation team consists of 8 Cal Poly students. Over the course of about 9 months, we worked as a team to deploy this web application. The team members are listed below:
- Stephen Carmona - Project Manager
- Kunhua Cheng - Designer
- Hope Yim - Tech Lead
- Lindsey Amaro - Software Developer
- Sarah Sykora - Software Developer
- Melika Dabiri - Software Developer
