Custom Craft: Craft Your Way to Uniqueness

Custom Crafting Blocks

Introduction: Custom Craft is the crafting system at the heart of my data packs. It empowers you to create custom items with NBT tags. I developed this system for several reasons. Mojang's changes to the smithing table in Minecraft 1.20 inspired its creation. Additionally, it addresses issues like the custom item respawning bug, which can occur when certain data packs or command blocks unlock all recipes.

User-Friendly Mechanism: Custom Craft is designed to be easy to grasp. It introduces two custom crafting blocks: the Working Table and the Scribing Table. The Working Table operates similarly to the Crafting Table, while the Scribing Table resembles the Smithing Table from Minecraft 1.19.

How to Install:

If you're using data packs that require the custom crafting blocks to complete custom recipes, this system will be automatically installed. It's seamlessly integrated into the following data packs:

How to Spawn Custom Crafting Blocks:

  • To create a Working Table, simply drop a stone pickaxe onto a Crafting Table block. The block will transform into a Working Table. Working Table GIF

  • To summon a Scribing Table, drop a book and quill onto a bookshelf block. The block will morph into a Scribing Table. Scribing Table GIF

Operating the GUI of Custom Crafting Blocks:

Let's take the Diamond Upgrade data pack as an example.

  • Working Table: Prepare all the required ingredients, then click "Craft!" to complete the recipe. Working Table GIF

  • Scribing Table: Ready all the necessary components and click "Scribing!" to complete the recipe. Scribing Table GIF
