If you decide to use Newsboat as your news aggregator, we recommend you reading the [Arch Wiki page](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Newsboat) about Newsboat as it contains a lot of information about how to use it, customize it and even some tips to use Newsboat efficiently.

Is this a better resource than the documentation at https://newsboat.org/releases/2.36/docs/newsboat.html?

At least, for me it was. When using newsboat for the first time, the Arch Wiki was a great help for me. IMO the Arch Wiki page is easier to understand than the official docs, it covers most use cases but I think for more niche things, the official docs are still a great resource. Maybe we should link the two wikis? Or doing this is adding unnecessary bloat?

I would say that :

  • If you want to use newsboat and don't want to go much into the details, then the Arch Wiki is great.

  • If you want to use newsboat and is interested in going much into the details, then the official docs are great.

Personally I'd like to avoid linking to arch wiki, just as we try to avoid linking to wikipedia.

Some of the articles mentioned there get dated when the single maintainer leaves them alone.
