This looks great! I broadened out the "what's next for pyOpenSci - the road ahead" to include a training programming generally and highlight the Fall Festival as a first pilot. I thought that was important since the rest of the post is general and about the overall direction and needs of the organization. So, the 'next steps' should reflect that bigger picture too. The way I've suggested changes might not match to your voice though @lwasser, so please adapt as needed.

ok y'all. i have to apologize. i did a rebase locally and i had updated from this branch but somehow i managed to overwrite all of the changes! I didn't mean to dismiss any reviews or feedback. I manually integrated everything locally and pushed several commits to reflect these changes! I am going to merge this now.
