This database was created in December 2023 by Samuel Forrest of St John’s College, Oxford. Forrest was responsible for updating Kenyon (1914) and Grenfell (1919) with P.Oxy. I–XLIX and for most of the scripting. The resulting collection has since been greatly augmented from other sources.
Restorations to papyri are not included unless they emend a previous restoration. An emendation is included, on the other hand, even if it was retracted; no praise is withheld where it is due. Manuscript readings marked by editors as ‘dispexit’, ‘ut videtur’, ‘fortasse’ or ‘?’ are not used. Glosses are excluded as evidence of attestation unless specifically argued for in an item on the bibliography, and are always marked as such. ‘Manuscripts’ are understood broadly (libri manu scripti), as opposed to printed books (impressi) and marginalia in the latter.
The schema was designed to harmonise with that used in the Amsterdam Database of NT Conjectures.
Cette confirmation par des var. inédites cessera un jour
