Map showing all buildings in the Netherlands, shaded according to the estimated concentration of metals in residential buildings. with open data. This creates a map from the perspective of a future circular economy—because “Cities are the mines of the future” (Jane Jacobs). For each metal, two estimates are visualized. The minimum scenario shows the least amount of metal to be expected, while the maximum scenario shows the opposite.
Map and metal density based on open data and a calculation based on a method by Koutamanis et al.. Used data sets are BAG and AHN.
Calculated data for Amsterdam are in /data. See the readme file in the data folder.
