01 Introduction

Welcome to the HangAround wiki!

HangAround is an ultra low cost 3D printer which has the following goals:

• Total cost is less than 49 Euro
• Few parts
• Easy to assemble
• Large build volume of Dia 400x400 mm

To acheve this, we use low cost geared steppers normally used in appliances such as 28byj-48 The frame is eliminated. Instead the printer is suspended under a table.

The design builds on the fantastic work of the Hangprinter to achieve these goals. Other inspiration comes from the ToyPrinter project.
